Google Play Games expands to Windows PCs

Google is significantly enhancing its Play Games platform for Windows, with a dedicated tab appearing on the mobile and web Play Store soon to highlight desktop-optimized titles. This initiative aims to improve game discoverability and streamline the purchase process for PC gamers.

Developers will soon be able to offer a 'buy once, play anywhere' experience, enabling users to access premium games on both Android and Windows. While some large-screen games like Sledding Game and Potion Craft are slated for release this year, Google is also exploring game trials to entice new players.

Google's approach involves treating Windows as a distinct platform, though games still run via virtualization.
