25 Mar
Summary
- Lyria 3 Pro generates music up to three minutes long.
- New model offers enhanced creative control and track structure.
- It integrates with Gemini, Google Vids, ProducerAI, and enterprise tools.

Google has launched Lyria 3 Pro, an updated music generation AI, following the recent release of Lyria 3. This enhanced model empowers users to produce music tracks extending up to three minutes, a substantial upgrade from the 30-second limit of its predecessor. Lyria 3 Pro boasts improved creative control and customization options.
Users can now specify detailed elements like intros, verses, choruses, and bridges within their prompts, as the model possesses a more refined understanding of musical composition. This advanced capability is being integrated into various Google platforms.
Lyria 3 Pro is rolling out in the Gemini app, exclusively for paid subscribers. It is also being incorporated into the Google Vids video editing application and ProducerAI, a music production tool recently acquired by Google. Furthermore, Google is extending this AI music generation to its enterprise offerings.
Enterprise access is provided through Vertex AI (currently in public preview), the Gemini API, and AI Studio. Google stated that Lyria 3 Pro was trained using data from its partners and permissible content from YouTube and Google platforms, ensuring it does not mimic specific artists directly. However, prompts referencing an artist will inspire the generated track broadly.
To ensure transparency, all tracks created with Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro are watermarked with SynthID, indicating their AI-generated origin. This release occurs amid broader industry efforts to address AI in music, with Spotify and Deezer introducing tools for managing AI-generated and artist-attributed music.
