Users can now instruct Gemini to perform specific tasks at predetermined times, such as generating a daily weather and news report or providing a meal suggestion every evening. This feature mirrors the scheduled task capabilities that ChatGPT introduced several months ago.

To access Gemini's scheduled actions, users must subscribe to Google's AI service, which starts at $20 per month for the Google AI Pro plan. The chatbot can manage up to 10 scheduled actions simultaneously, requiring users to be selective in how they utilize the feature.

Implementing a scheduled action in Gemini is straightforward - users simply need to describe the task and include the scheduling details in their prompt. Gemini will then provide a recap of the requested action, including the frequency and timing. The scheduled tasks will run automatically, regardless of whether the user has the chatbot open, and users will receive notifications and email alerts when an action is executed.
