This AI-powered tool allows for natural language prompts to create images, transforming geographic locations into historical renderings, future concepts, or imaginative scenes.

Users can explore history by prompting views of ancient cities like Pompeii in 78 A.D. or create infographics with key facts, such as for the Statue of Liberty. The AI, powered by Gemini for information retrieval and Nano Banana for graphic creation, offers a novel way to engage with educational content.

Beyond historical visualization, the feature supports imagining future developments, like a shopping mall on an empty lot, or personal projects such as a dream lakeside home. It also allows for fantastical scenarios, from alien invasions to wolf-occupied cities. This capability is now rolling out worldwide to Google Earth web users.

It is important to note that Nano Banana's outputs are AI-generated interpretations and may not always be factually precise. Google Earth also recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, enhancing its time-travel capabilities with historical Street View imagery.
