Google has issued an urgent security update for its Chrome browser, rolling out version 152.0.7977.82/.83 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This release addresses a total of 12 vulnerabilities, ten of which are classified as high severity.
The most critical fix pertains to a zero-day vulnerability, CVE-2026-85046, a "type confusion in V8" flaw actively being exploited in the wild. This vulnerability, discovered by Salvatore Gulizia, enables remote attackers to execute arbitrary code within the browser's sandbox by presenting a specially crafted HTML page.
This marks the sixth zero-day vulnerability Google has patched in Chrome this year. The update also impacts other browsers built on the Chromium project, including Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. Users of these browsers are strongly advised to update to their latest versions promptly to mitigate risks.
