Google Gemini Taps Your Data for Smarter Answers
17 Mar
Summary
- Gemini's Personal Intelligence feature now expands to more US users.
- It pulls data from user apps for tailored responses.
- Personalization is opt-in and only for personal accounts.

Google is making its Gemini Personal Intelligence feature more accessible to users in the United States. This new capability allows the Gemini chatbot to draw information from a user's other Google applications and services, enabling it to generate more personalized responses.
Initially available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, the feature is now expanding. Users can enable Personal Intelligence within the dedicated AI Mode of the Gemini app by navigating through their profile settings. Google plans to gradually roll out this personalization to free users of the Gemini app in the US in the coming weeks, with international availability to follow.
Similar expansion is planned for Gemini in Chrome, where personalization will first become available in the US. Google suggests potential uses such as generating tailored travel itineraries by referencing your interests or assisting with device troubleshooting by accessing details from your Gmail. Personal Intelligence is disabled by default and only functions with personal Google accounts, not Workspace business accounts.
