Gemini users on MacOS are now benefiting from enhanced voice capabilities and a new Screen Awareness mode, as announced by Google recently. The Gemini app, launched earlier this year, continues to expand its feature set with this latest update.
One of the key additions is intelligent dictation, which converts spoken words into refined text, automatically eliminating pauses and filler words like 'ums' and 'ahs.' This AI-powered feature aims to improve the accuracy and polish of transcribed text wherever the cursor is placed.
The other significant new feature is the opt-in Screen Awareness mode. This functionality allows Gemini to interpret what is visible on the user's screen and active windows. For instance, a user can highlight text in a document and instruct Gemini to create an executive summary from it, with the AI then replacing the original text with the generated summary.
