Google's Gemini chatbot is expanding its reach, with a recent rollout to East Asian and Pacific countries. Users in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam can now utilize Gemini directly within their Chrome browser.
This expansion builds upon earlier availability in Canada, India, and New Zealand. The feature is accessible via Chrome's desktop interface and its mobile application on iOS and Android devices, with Japan being an exception for iOS at this time.
Gemini in Chrome opens a sidebar for users to interact with the AI across all open tabs. It also includes access to Google's Nano Banana 2 image generator and integrates with other Google apps, like Calendar, allowing for quick event additions without leaving the browser.
