Gemini Adds AI Image Generation From Personal Data
16 Apr
Summary
- Gemini now generates images using personal data context.
- AI understands user preferences without explicit prompts.
- Feature rolling out to Plus, Pro, Ultra subscribers in US.

Google announced that Gemini's Personal Intelligence is gaining a new AI image generation capability. This feature utilizes your personal data, such as information from Gmail and Google Photos, to understand your preferences and interests.
Instead of detailing your interests in a prompt, you can simply ask Gemini to create an image, and it will use its contextual understanding of your data. For example, you can request an image of your family doing a favorite activity, and Gemini can identify "Family" from your photos.
The "sources" button will be available to show how Gemini derived the context for image generation, with options to provide feedback if it gets the context wrong. Users can also add reference photos via a '+' icon.
This image generation feature is slated for release to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. in the coming days. Google plans to expand this capability to Gemini in Chrome desktop and to more users shortly thereafter.
