Galaxy Buds 4: Missing Speaker Case Sparks Outrage
17 Feb
Summary
- New Galaxy Buds 4 leaks suggest the charging case speaker will be removed.
- This feature would have allowed users to locate lost earbuds via sound.
- Rival AirPods already offer similar, advanced tracking capabilities.

Samsung's next-generation Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are nearing their debut, expected around the February 25 Unpacked event. Recent leaks indicate a significant design change: the removal of a speaker from the charging case. This speaker was anticipated to aid in locating lost earbuds by emitting a sound, a feature already present in competing products like Apple's AirPods.
Earlier reports in November 2025 had suggested the inclusion of a speaker grille. However, new images shared on X appear to contradict this, showing no evidence of the speaker. This decision has reportedly led to fan dissatisfaction, particularly as rival devices offer sophisticated tracking and directional finding.
Beyond the charging case, the Galaxy Buds 4 line is also expected to shed the angular stem design seen in previous models. This change could improve gesture controls for volume and playback. While other Samsung devices like the Galaxy Trifold are also anticipated, the Galaxy Buds 4 have generated considerable buzz among audio fans.
