20 Feb
Summary
- The Galaxy A17 features 2020-era Gorilla Glass Victus for enhanced drop resistance.
- Its design is similar to the A16, with a prominent chin and plastic frame.
- The phone boasts an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Galaxy A17 continues its design lineage, presenting a rounded rectangular slab measuring 6.47 by 3.07 by 0.30 inches and weighing 6.77 ounces. This iteration sports an upgrade to 2020-era Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, significantly enhancing its drop resistance over the A16's 2013-era Gorilla Glass 3.
Despite its budget-friendly positioning, the A17 offers an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, a step up from some competitors. Key design elements include a prominent chin bezel and a plastic frame. Functionality is enhanced with a reliable fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button on the right side, and a combined SIM/microSD card tray on the left rail.
The rear camera array has been updated, moving from individual lens protrusions to a unified, pill-shaped bump. The A17 is available in black, which tends to attract smudges, or blue.
