Google recently introduced the Fitbit Edge, a new wearable positioned between its Air and Pixel Watch models. This device is available for $179.99 and features a 1.34-inch OLED display, allowing users to check maps, notifications, weather, and music controls conveniently.
The Fitbit Edge integrates with Google Health Coach, powered by Gemini, which requires a Google Health Premium subscription. This feature uses a user's health data to create and adjust weekly routines and workout plans according to their schedule.
Additional features include Google's Health Guardian, designed to detect significant changes in health measurements over time. The wearable automatically recognizes and logs over 100 activities, utilizes enhanced GPS accuracy for outdoor tracking, and provides improved sleep-stage detection.
Google states the Fitbit Edge offers a battery life of up to seven days and is water-resistant up to 50 meters. Preorders are open through the Google Store, with general availability set for October 27. Color options include Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Canyon, along with a Stephen Curry Special Edition for $219.99.
