Summary
- Former Apple designers have launched a new electric buggy company, Amble.
- The Amble One is a minimalist electric buggy for short trips.
- Amble's first customers are hotels, with bulk orders averaging $1 million.

Following their tenure at Apple, two former designers are now focusing on luxury electric vehicles. Julian Hoenig, a veteran designer behind iconic Apple products, has launched Amble. The company's debut product, the Amble One, is a street-legal electric buggy with a 40 mph top speed and a 60-mile range, aimed at short-distance travel.
The Amble One features a minimalist design inspired by retro vehicles and the lunar rover, with an aluminum frame and organic cork steering wheel. The concept originated from a need for better golf carts for hotels. Amble's initial customers are hospitality businesses, with substantial bulk orders already reserved for 2027 deliveries.
Amble is now accepting individual orders in Europe and the United States, with deliveries starting in 2028, priced around $25,000. The company is developing a more urban-focused version with removable doors. Hoenig envisions these buggies as practical second cars for families for daily errands.
In parallel, Jony Ive has partnered with Ferrari on the luxury automaker's first electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce, which was unveiled last month. The company recently announced the departure of its marketing chief.
