EVgo Deploys Tesla V4 Superchargers in US

EVgo announced it will begin deploying Tesla V4 Superchargers on its network later this fall in the US. This initiative sees EVgo manufacturing Tesla's Supercharger hardware under license.

The new V4 Superchargers are designed to deliver up to 500 kW and will feature both NACS and CCS1 plugs, accommodating a wider range of electric vehicles. Notably, these EVgo-owned units will be integrated into Tesla's in-car navigation system.

This deployment extends charging access to non-Tesla EV drivers, who can use the Tesla app to locate and charge at these stations. EVgo emphasizes that the charging cables will be sufficiently long to connect with various vehicle charge port locations.

This strategic move by EVgo coincides with Tesla's broader strategy to generate revenue from its charging infrastructure, as the automaker faces increased operational costs and invests heavily in new technologies like robotics and AI.
