Smart Bedtech Gets Smarter: Pod 6 Revolutionizes Sleep
23 Sep
Summary
- Pod 6 offers faster temperature response, improving comfort.
- New models feature 18 biometric sensors for comprehensive sleep tracking.
- The high-tech sleep system starts at $2,000 and requires a monthly subscription.

Eight Sleep has unveiled its most significant hardware upgrade to date with the Pod 6 smart sleep system, rebuilt from the ground up. The redesigned hub is now more compact, fitting easily under most bed frames. It actively manages temperature through a mattress cover, with the Pod 6 delivering approximately 20 percent faster temperature adjustments compared to previous models to quickly address night sweats and chills.
The new system integrates 18 biometric sensors, a substantial increase from the Pod 5's two. These sensors non-invasively monitor heart rate, breath rate, sleep stages, and even snoring. This data fuels an AI engine that powers the Autopilot feature, which dynamically adjusts the mattress cover's temperature and conditions in response to sleep stages and ambient room temperature. The technology is sophisticated enough to differentiate between two sleepers or a pet on the bed.
A new, more affordable solo sleeper size is now available, though it lacks dual-zone temperature control. Despite its advanced capabilities, the Pod 6 is a significant investment, with prices ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 depending on the mattress size. All models also require a mandatory monthly subscription to the Autopilot program, costing between $17 and $25.
