Dreame, a company previously recognized for its robotic vacuums, has launched the Leaptic Cube, a modular action camera. This device, officially released in Germany this month, offers 8K video recording and features an expansive 155-degree lens, beneficial for diverse content creation. The camera module separates from a base unit containing battery and controls, a design reminiscent of other popular action cameras.
The Leaptic Cube is engineered for high-quality video capture, supporting 8K30 resolution and slow-motion up to 4K120 with sound. It is also IPX8 waterproof, allowing for use in aquatic environments. The camera utilizes a Type 1/1.3 sensor, capable of capturing 50MP stills and HDR video up to 4K60.
When it arrives in the US in October, the Leaptic Cube will be available in several configurations. Options include 64GB of storage for $449, 128GB for $479, and a 128GB version with an accessory bundle for $579. Dreame also presented intriguing concept cameras at IFA, including gimbal-stabilized models and a unique mirrorless-style camera, signaling broader ambitions in the creative technology space.
