Dreame, primarily known for its smart home devices, has entered the competitive action camera market with its new Leaptic Cube. This device, priced at $440, aims to challenge established brands like DJI and GoPro by offering high-resolution 8K video recording at 60 frames per second. This specification surpasses the 4K capabilities of some rival mobile cameras.
The Leaptic Cube also supports 4K recording at 120 fps for enhanced slow-motion effects and HDR. It features a 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 155-degree wide-angle lens, similar to DJI's Osmo Nano. The camera includes 64GB of internal storage, with an option for 128GB at $460, and supports 10-bit P-Log capture for improved color accuracy.
Dreame's expansion into action cameras coincides with increased U.S. regulatory scrutiny on Chinese drone manufacturers like DJI. This situation may present an opportunity for Dreame to expand its presence in the U.S. market. The company also showcased other smart home products at CES 2026, including new TVs and an "AI Laundry Care Robot."
