Doma Home has unveiled its first product, the Doma Intelligent Door, a motorized smart door designed to automatically open as authorized users approach and close after they enter. This system integrates advanced technologies like ultra-wideband (UWB) and stereoscopic IR facial recognition for seamless access. Embedded sensors ensure safe operation by tracking occupants and detecting resistance.
The door boasts a circular touchscreen with a 4K video doorbell, keypad, and status light, alongside a larger interior touchscreen for system control. Doma emphasizes local data storage and encryption for enhanced privacy and security. The company plans to launch in the US and Canada next summer, with pricing estimated between $6,000 and $8,000.
Doma aims to create an intelligence layer for the home, with future products like Intelligent Windows planned. The entire system is designed for repairability and upgradability, and it supports Matter compatibility for integration with various smart home ecosystems. This approach seeks to offer a more integrated and responsive smart home experience.
