Dolby has confirmed that the next generation of its popular HDR format, Dolby Vision 2, will debut in 2026. Hisense's 2026 RGB mini-LED TV line, including UX, UR9, and UR8 models, will feature support, with other Hisense mini-LED TVs expected to receive it via software updates. TCL's 2026 X QD-mini LED and C series TVs, along with Philips' 2026 OLED811, OLED911, and OLED951 models, will also gain Dolby Vision 2 support through future updates.
The advanced format introduces several new features designed to elevate the viewing experience. Precision Black aims to create more natural black tones, addressing common consumer complaints about overly dark scenes. Light Sense will dynamically adjust on-screen picture based on room lighting conditions, ensuring optimal viewing in any environment. Additionally, live sport optimization promises more accurate motion processing for dynamic content.
