DJI Neo Drone: Prime Day Deal Slashes Price!

DJI's exceptionally simple beginner drone, the Neo, is currently available at a reduced price, particularly ahead of upcoming Prime Day sales. This compact drone is designed for ease of use, allowing users to fly it with or without a controller, even taking off from the palm of a hand and tracking movement for aerial selfies. It also features a return-to-hand function.

Deals include the Fly More Bundle, which offers the drone, controller, and extra batteries for $295 in the US and £198.55 in the UK. A drone-only package is also significantly cheaper. While these offers make the original Neo, released in September 2024, a strong contender, the existence of the Neo 2 upgrade, released in November 2025, presents a choice for consumers.

The Neo 2, costing more, boasts key improvements such as obstacle avoidance, enhanced flight speeds, a built-in screen, and better wind resistance, earning it a higher rating. However, both models share core features like impressive autonomous tracking, modest battery life, and similar image quality from a 1/2-inch sensor, shooting only JPEG photos. The Neo 2's 4K video frame rate is improved, but neither drone supports advanced color profiles or ND filters.

For casual users prioritizing simplicity and fun, especially for aerial selfies, the original Neo at its discounted price is a compelling option if obstacle avoidance is not a critical feature. Those seeking advanced capabilities might consider other drones, but for beginners, the Neo series remains an excellent entry point into aerial photography.
