Sponge-Worthy Sound: DIY Headphones Wow Audio World

An innovative audio engineer has unveiled a unique pair of open-back headphones constructed from common household Scrub Daddy sponges. This inventive project, undertaken with the engineer's son, aimed to teach about commerce and resulted in a surprisingly high-performing audio device. The headphones, featuring 50mm drivers and specially tuned acoustics, demonstrated a remarkably flat frequency response, drawing comparisons to elite, expensive models.

Initially listed for sale at $100, these distinctive headphones were a singular creation and are not available for mass purchase. The engineer, known on Reddit as Pud, frequently shares experimental headphone designs, including previous creations inspired by Croc shoes and a more unusual set resembling a human barbell. The Scrub Daddy headphones stand out for their relatively normal appearance among Pud's other inventive designs, garnering significant attention and even a compliment from Sennheiser's official Reddit account.
