The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a new digital service enabling residents within a 20 km radius of eligible toll plazas to purchase local passes via the Rajmargyatra Mobile App. This advancement significantly streamlines the process, as commuters can now complete their purchase online within minutes, eliminating the prior requirement to visit toll plazas in person and submit documents.
The initial phase of this digital local toll pass service is active at the Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll Plaza in Delhi. The system leverages consent-based integration with government digital platforms like DigiLocker and VAHAN for automated verification of address and vehicle details. GIS-based checks further confirm eligibility, ensuring a transparent and user-friendly experience.
Additionally, the Rajmargyatra App now features 'MargMitra', an intelligent digital assistance platform. This single-window interface provides users with instant help for various services, including FASTag recharges, local pass inquiries, and grievance registration in 22 Indian languages. Users can track complaint progress and appeal resolutions, enhancing overall user convenience and safety on National Highways.
