Denuvo DRM Cracked: Games Now Freely Available!
28 Apr
Summary
- New hypervisor bypasses allow Denuvo-protected games to be cracked rapidly.
- All currently Denuvo-protected games are reportedly available for free.
- Publishers are implementing new measures like online check-ins.

In a significant development for 2026, the Denuvo digital rights management (DRM) system, once a formidable barrier against game piracy, has been effectively bypassed. New hypervisor-based cracking methods have emerged, drastically reducing the time needed to breach Denuvo protection from weeks to mere hours. As a result, all games currently employing Denuvo's protection are reportedly available for free on pirate platforms.
This rapid compromise has forced game publishers and Denuvo's parent company, Irdeto, to implement countermeasures. Some publishers are introducing stricter DRM measures, including mandatory online check-ins every two weeks, even for single-player modes. Irdeto has acknowledged the vulnerability and is developing updated security versions designed to prevent future bypasses without impacting game performance for legitimate players.
The shift to virtualization has made cracking Denuvo-protected titles, such as newly released games like Crimson Desert and Resident Evil: Requiem, remarkably swift. This situation contrasts sharply with Denuvo's initial launch in 2014 with FIFA 15, when it successfully delayed cracks for months or even years, thereby mitigating piracy's financial impact on major game releases.
