20 Jan
Summary
- AI-animated videos guide invitees through arrival and parking.
- Google Maps and Mappls offer real-time navigation to parking.
- Car-calling systems manage dispersal to avoid post-event crowds.

Delhi Traffic Police has implemented numerous technology-driven measures to ensure smooth traffic flow for the Republic Day parade and Beating Retreat ceremony at Kartavya Path. This year marks the first use of AI-generated animated videos, which visually guide invitees through arrival, alighting, and parking procedures, accessible via QR codes.
To aid commuters, Google Maps and Mappls will offer real-time navigation to 22 designated parking areas, capable of holding approximately 8,000 vehicles. Shuttle services are also being introduced for security personnel, operating from multiple points. A car-calling system has been deployed to manage vehicle dispersal efficiently after the events conclude.
Further enhancing on-ground support, 12 help desks have been established across key locations, significantly increasing from previous years. These desks will assist commuters with parking, pedestrian routes, and security information. A dedicated control room will operate on January 26, ensuring coordination among police, fire services, and other emergency agencies.
