- Node-based workflow offers powerful, flexible photo adjustments.

Blackmagic Design has released the beta version of DaVinci Resolve 21, signaling a direct challenge to Adobe's dominance in photo editing software. The new 'Photo' page simplifies the process of importing and managing still images, including RAW files, directly within Resolve.
This dedicated page integrates with the robust node-based Color page, offering powerful tools for primary color correction, curves, and qualifiers, aiming to rival Adobe Lightroom's capabilities. Photographers can benefit from features like LightBox view for managing albums and direct tethering with Sony and Canon cameras for live adjustments.
Beyond photo editing, DaVinci Resolve 21 introduces advanced AI tools for video. These include features for altering facial appearances, such as aging subjects or reshaping features, and enhancing image quality through AI-powered sharpening and deblurring.
Further enhancements include improved Fusion effect integration, new compositing tools, and VR capabilities. While many new features are free, some advanced AI tools are exclusive to the paid DaVinci Resolve Studio version.
