Summary
- A heavily damaged Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti was repaired by modders.
- The revived GPU achieved a new world benchmark record.
- Significant modifications improved power delivery for record performance.

A group of Brazilian modders has successfully revived a damaged Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, pushing its performance to world-record-breaking levels. The graphics card had sustained significant physical damage, including holes in its printed circuit board (PCB), necessitating extensive repairs and component replacements.
Through a lengthy livestreamed effort, modders Paulo Gomes and Enzo Túlio focused on reinforcing the card's power delivery system. They addressed display signal issues and improved grounding to minimize voltage loss, crucial for the card's operation despite its compromised state.
Initially performing at around RTX 3060 levels, the modified RTX 5070 Ti, dubbed a 'Franken-GPU,' achieved an impressive score of 11,150 points in the Superposition 8K Optimized benchmark. This performance surpassed the previous top ranking on HWBot by 70 points, though it was not officially submitted.
This marks the second time this specific RTX 5070 Ti has been revived by Gomes, with a previous attempt using an AMD RX 580 as an external VRM. The latest modification, incorporating an RTX 2080 Ti, significantly boosted its capabilities, despite some internal wiring reaching over 100 degrees Celsius during testing.
