AI Coworker Now Mobile: Work Anywhere

Anthropic's AI agent, Claude Cowork, is now accessible on web and mobile devices for Max subscribers, extending its availability beyond the initial desktop app launched in January. This expansion enables users to seamlessly transition tasks between their desk and phone, with the agent continuing background operations even when the primary device is offline.

This multi-platform accessibility signals Anthropic's intention to position Claude Cowork as an administrative assistant that works across devices. The AI can handle tasks in the background, requesting human input only when necessary for decision-making. Early data indicates that "work around the work" tasks, such as compiling scattered updates into single reports or managing spreadsheets, are the most frequent use cases.

Analysis of over 1.2 million Cowork sessions revealed that business process operations constitute the largest category of use at 33.4%, common in finance, HR, and administration. Content creation and copywriting followed at 16.4%, while software development accounted for only 8.7%. Anthropic aims for Claude Cowork to become a central reference for integrating AI into daily work, focusing on areas of concentrated value.
