Anthropic Unlocks Legal Workflows with Claude AI

Anthropic has introduced a suite of over 20 MCP connectors and 12 plugins designed to enhance Claude AI for legal professionals. These new tools aim to streamline complex legal workflows by integrating with essential legal software such as DocuSign, LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, and Everlaw. This integration allows Claude to access case files, research databases, and other critical documents, providing deeper context for legal tasks.

The company has noted a significant increase in engagement from legal workers, identifying them as the most active users of its Claude Cowork platform among all knowledge-work functions. The new connectors focus on bringing contextual information from documents and communications directly into Claude, while plugins are designed to package and expedite frequently performed tasks.

These tools are built on open protocols, offering law firms the flexibility to adapt them to their specific working methods. Beyond the core Claude interface, these enhancements are also being embedded into common office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The release follows Anthropic's recent introduction of similar industry-specific AI tools for finance professionals.
