For a two-week period, running from March 13 to March 27, 2026, all regular subscribers, including those on the free tier, will benefit from doubled usage allowances. This initiative is presented as a gesture of gratitude for the recent influx of support from users.

The company's user base has seen a notable increase, largely attributed to the "QuitGPT" movement. This trend involves users canceling their ChatGPT subscriptions in response to OpenAI's agreement to deploy its models within U.S. defense networks. Anthropic had previously distanced itself from similar defense-related proposals.

This doubled usage offer is specifically available outside of peak hours during weekdays, with specific time windows provided for different time zones. However, users can enjoy the increased limits throughout the entire weekend. This promotion extends across various Claude surfaces, including web, desktop, mobile, Cowork, Claude Code, Claude for Excel, and Claude for PowerPoint.

This promotion follows closely on the heels of Anthropic making two of Claude's advanced features, Projects and Artifacts, accessible to free users. These features are designed to enhance Claude's functionality beyond a simple chatbot, enabling it to serve as a more robust workspace for organizing information, developing documents, and creating tools.
