OpenAI has introduced a new ChatGPT Library feature, allowing users to store and retrieve uploaded files. Documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and images can now be automatically saved within the chat interface for easier access.
This file storage functionality is exclusive to paid subscribers, including Plus, Pro, and Business users, and requires an active internet connection. Supported file types have size restrictions, with a maximum of 512MB for general documents and 20MB for images. Files are retained for up to 30 days after deletion.
Additionally, ChatGPT's Memory feature can now reference these saved files for context in ongoing conversations. OpenAI is also focusing on developing coding and productivity tools, signaling a shift away from video generation, with plans for a "superapp" desktop interface consolidating its AI offerings.
