The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 has set a new benchmark for PC and gaming monitors, highlighting advancements in display technology. Samsung unveiled its latest QD-OLED panel, which not only improves text legibility but also powers a new wave of 34-inch ultrawide monitors capable of an impressive 360Hz refresh rate.
Further pushing the boundaries, Samsung also introduced the world's first 1,000Hz monitor, a significant feat though limited to a 720p resolution. This development underscores a broader trend of dramatically increasing refresh rates across the monitor market, with 120Hz becoming the new standard.
Complementing these advancements, LG presented several new 5K2K ultrawide monitors, focusing on enhanced resolution. Dell also featured large displays, including a 52-inch Ultrasharp monitor with integrated Thunderbolt and Ethernet support, showcasing a diverse range of cutting-edge monitor technology at the show.
