Elderly Couple's Health Fears Grow Amidst 2-Month Broadband Blackout

A couple in their 70s near Llanelidan, Denbighshire, have faced severe distress after being without broadband and landline service for nearly two months. Howard and Brenda Parry, along with a neighbor, lost their connection on December 6th and experienced only two days of service over the next seven and a half weeks. This prolonged outage has heightened their anxiety, particularly concerning their ability to call for emergency help. Brenda, 73, reports increased blood pressure due to stress, while Howard, 79, who has a history of heart attack, fears he wouldn't be able to summon an ambulance. Their neighbor, Christine Conway, also noted the impact on her husband's work and the need to upgrade mobile plans due to patchy signal. Openreach has stated that approximately 150 meters of damaged cable needs replacement, requiring a road closure for safe work, which was reportedly facing delays in its approval.
