Bose QC Ultra Earbuds: Incremental Update, Major Sound
28 Nov
Summary
- Earbuds offer impressive audio with boosted bass and highs.
- Spatial audio is a standout feature, sounding natural.
- Active noise cancellation rivals top competitors.

Bose's QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) offer a refined user experience, with audio quality that impresses through boosted bass and highs. Spatial audio, particularly the Immersive Audio mode, stands out for its natural sound reproduction, rivaling top-tier competitors. The active noise cancellation is also a significant strength, effectively silencing ambient distractions.
While the earbuds and charging case feature a larger, less aesthetic design, they provide a comfortable and secure fit, even during extended use. The case, though bulky, proves durable. Battery life offers up to six hours with ANC, with the case providing an additional 24 hours, though this may be insufficient for very long journeys.
Despite the strong performance, some connectivity and firmware issues were noted, including random disconnections and update installation problems. Bose aims to resolve these with future updates, but these bugs currently detract from an otherwise brilliant package, especially considering the premium $299 price point.
