Summary
- Bose president acknowledges past gaming headset didn't resonate.
- Authenticity and performance bar are key for future products.
- Gamers are encouraged to 'stay tuned' for future announcements.
Bose president Raza Haider has indicated that the company is considering a new gaming headset, but stressed that any future product must authentically serve the gaming community and meet a high standard of performance. Haider noted that previous attempts, such as the 2021 QC35 II gaming headset, did not fully capture the interest of passionate gamers.
He stated that authenticity and performance are paramount for any new hardware. "I think if we do something, it has to be authentic to that consumer, it has to be authentic to that community, and it has to meet a certain bar of performance that what we have right now isn't quite there," Haider explained.
While no specific timelines were given, Haider encouraged gamers to "stay tuned," suggesting that Bose is actively observing the gaming audio market and may have future announcements. The QC35 II gaming headset, released in 2021, received a four-star rating but was noted for lacking gaming-specific features like an instant mute button.
