- A £24.5 million investment will create 1,000 new charging bays.
- Chargers will offer rapid top-ups, fully charging EVs in about 30 minutes.

Bluewater shopping centre in Kent is poised to become the UK's largest retail destination for electric car charging. This development is part of a major collaboration between RAW Charging and commercial property developer Landsec.
RAW Charging is investing £24.5 million to roll out 1,000 new charging bays across 28 high-footfall Landsec properties, each attracting over 20 million visitors annually. This expansion aims to meet the escalating demand for EV charging facilities.
Some of the new chargers will offer rapid charging, capable of replenishing an electric vehicle's battery to 100% in approximately 30 minutes. This allows shoppers to fully charge their cars while enjoying their retail experience.
The partnership will also upgrade existing chargers, ensuring the network meets current standards for speed, reliability, and accessibility. All chargepoints will feature contactless payment options, complying with government mandates and compatibility with major charging apps.
Beyond shopping centres, RAW Charging's network will extend to popular sites like the National Trust, Merlin Entertainments, and leading hotel groups, collectively supporting over 400,000 electric journeys each year.
