Bluesky's Attie Quest: Unlocking the Atmosphere's Secrets

Bluesky's AI assistant, Attie, previously focused on custom social feeds, is now evolving into a comprehensive research tool. The new 'Quests' feature enables users to query information and news circulating throughout the broader AT Protocol network, which encompasses Bluesky and any integrated applications. This development aims to help users navigate and understand the open social web, combatting misinformation by providing tools to find reliable information.

Launched in March, Attie was designed to let users create personalized algorithms and custom feeds. The addition of Quests enhances its utility by allowing open-ended questions about trending topics or influential accounts. Bluesky's Chief Innovation Officer, Jay Graber, stated that Attie is intended to simplify internet exploration and reduce the expertise needed to engage with the AT Protocol. The company has also focused on accessibility improvements and a new logo for Attie.

This expansion of Attie's capabilities follows a period of moderated user growth for Bluesky, which now reports approximately 45.6 million registered accounts. To support innovation and platform development, Bluesky announced it had raised $100 million in funding, secured in a round that closed in 2025. This capital provides runway for experiments with AI tools like Attie and exploration of other revenue streams, such as premium subscriptions or tools for power users.
