Summary
- New VPN tool offers disposable connections for AI agents.
- Each agent task gets a unique, temporary encrypted tunnel.
- Tool provides network transport and IP masking for AI agents.

Bitdefender has introduced a new privacy tool, VPN for AI Agents, specifically engineered for autonomous AI software. This public beta aims to alleviate concerns about data exposure from AI agents performing tasks on behalf of users.
The tool operates on a Model Context Protocol server architecture, creating disposable digital workspaces for each AI prompt. These workspaces are discarded once a task is finished, ensuring no cookies, cache, or session data carry over between tasks. Each prompt establishes its own encrypted tunnel, exiting through the VPN server's IP address for anonymity.
This approach provides clean-IP browsing and is particularly useful for tasks like cross-regional price comparisons or multi-country research. It supports simultaneous connections from multiple exit locations. The tool currently operates only on macOS devices with Apple silicon processors, requiring macOS 13 or later, and integrates automatically with popular AI platforms.
Bitdefender emphasizes that the VPN for AI Agents covers network transport and IP masking but does not protect other device applications or hide prompts from the AI provider. Access is limited during the beta period, with the service being offered for free, though its post-beta pricing remains undecided.
