Bentley Supersports: Powerful Petrol-Powered Supercar Bucks Electrification Trend

In a bold move against the industry's shift towards electrification, Bentley has unveiled its new Supersports supercar. Powered by a strengthened 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine developing a devilish 666 horsepower, the £344,000 Supersports is set to deliver "scintillating" performance.

Bentley says the new model marks "a return to Bentley making more extreme cars", with the changes yielding the "highest power density of any Bentley engine." Linked to an uprated eight-speed automatic gearbox, the Supersports can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 192mph, making it the most aggressive grand tourer the British luxury brand has ever produced.

Featuring an aerodynamic design with a fixed rear wing, the Supersports generates 300kg more downforce than Bentley's Continental GT Speed, helping to keep the car planted on the road. Limited to just 500 numbered examples, the new model is set to be unveiled at a special event in New York ahead of order books opening in March 2026 and first deliveries in early 2027.
