4 Mar
Summary
- BenQ offers a 5K display for Mac users at $999.
- It matches Apple's Studio Display size and resolution.
- The BenQ model is $600 cheaper than Apple's offering.

BenQ's new 27-inch 5K MA270S monitor, designed to complement Mac aesthetics, is now available for $999.
This price point makes it a compelling alternative to Apple's Studio Display, offering a $600 saving. The BenQ display matches the 5,120 x 2,880 resolution and size of Apple's new offerings, featuring a Nano Gloss surface for enhanced viewing angles.
While delivering 99% of the P3 color gamut, the MA270S has a maximum brightness of 500 nits, compared to the Studio Display's 600 nits. It also omits a webcam and features a less advanced speaker system than Apple's offering.
Connectivity includes Thunderbolt 4 for daisy-chaining, two HDMI ports, and multiple USB-A and USB-C ports, supporting charging even when the display is off. The monitor allows volume and brightness adjustments via Apple keyboards, and can sync brightness with macOS automatic adjustments.
