Audio-Technica has expanded its popular StreamSet line with the introduction of the ATH-M50xSTS-WL, its very first wireless model. This new headset is specifically designed for content creators, streamers, and gamers who require ultra-low latency.
Instead of Bluetooth, the ATH-M50xSTS-WL utilizes a 2.4GHz wireless connection through an included USB transceiver. This allows it to connect seamlessly with PCs and gaming consoles such as the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The headphones offer an impressive battery life of approximately 24 hours on a single charge, which can be replenished via USB.
Key features carried over from the wired ATH-M50xSTS model include microphones derived from the company's 20 Series and audio drivers from the renowned ATH-M50x professional monitor headphones. The headset incorporates adaptive noise cancellation with two adjustable levels, employing an algorithm to prioritize the user's voice over ambient noise like PC fans.
Additionally, the ATH-M50xSTS-WL features a flexible boom arm with a cardioid condenser microphone that mutes audio instantly when flipped up. The headphones also come with two types of interchangeable earpads: one set optimized for superior sound quality and another designed for breathability during extended use. The ATH-M50xSTS-WL headphones are currently available for purchase at $299.
