AT&T Home Security Now Powered by Gemini AI

AT&T has introduced Gemini for Home integration into its Connected Life smart home security system. This makes it the first home security product to utilize Google Home Premium's Gemini-powered features. The integration allows for AI-driven summaries of home security events captured by cameras, providing specific details like package deliveries and their contents.

Users can now query their recorded video footage using natural language, asking questions such as "What dug up the yard last night?" This feature enhances the ability to review daily activity summaries both inside and outside the home. These advanced AI functionalities are accessible through AT&T's professional Connected Life monitoring plan, priced at $29.99 per month.

Additionally, AT&T is enabling an automatic arming and disarming function based on the user's proximity to their home. Launched in December in partnership with Google and Abode, the Connected Life system now benefits from Google's Gemini-powered Home APIs. These APIs empower smart home brands to integrate AI capabilities into their devices, with ADT also indicating interest in similar Gemini for Home features.
