Ather 450X Gets Smart Cruise Control Upgrade

Ather Energy is rolling out its innovative Infinite Cruise system to Ather 450X electric scooters. This advanced feature, first introduced on the 450 Apex in August 2025, is now available to approximately 44,000 450X owners through over-the-air updates, and will be standard on new models. The system is specifically designed for the complexities of Indian urban riding, adapting to dense traffic and varied speeds below 30 kmph.

Unlike conventional cruise control, Ather's Infinite Cruise maintains its setting even after braking or acceleration, automatically recalibrating to the new speed. This mechanism aims to reduce rider fatigue and provide smoother control in bustling city conditions. The system operates between 10 and 90 kmph and includes specialized modes like CityCruise for traffic flow, Hill Control for inclines, and Crawl Control for low-speed stability on uneven surfaces.

The backward compatibility for this feature was made possible through strategic product planning and hardware decisions made during the development of the 450 series in 2025. This expansion of software-driven features underscores Ather Energy's commitment to enhancing the ownership experience and technological capabilities of its electric scooter lineup.
