The Asus ROG Ally, a portable gaming PC that closely mirrors the concept of an Xbox handheld, has received a significant price reduction. Originally launched at $600, the device is now available for $500, marking a $100 discount. This adjustment makes the handheld gaming PC a more attractive option for consumers.
Internally, the ROG Ally is powered by AMD's Ryzen Z2 A processor, complemented by 16GB of dual-channel RAM and a 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD, ensuring robust performance for modern games and quick load times. The system also features expandable storage.
A key advantage of the Asus ROG Ally is its flexibility, not restricting users to a single platform. It fully supports Xbox titles, alongside games from Steam, the Epic Games Store, and other PC platforms, all managed through a customized Windows interface designed for controller navigation.
The handheld boasts a 7-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. Its design prioritizes comfort for extended play sessions, weighing just under 1.5 pounds. Connectivity includes dual USB-C ports for external displays, and a 60Wh battery supports fast charging.
