Apple is reportedly gearing up to introduce a suite of smart home devices, with at least seven new products anticipated to launch in 2026. This updated model could also integrate Thread connectivity and potentially a camera for FaceTime calls, possibly merging with HomePod functionalities.
Furthermore, Apple is rumored to be developing four distinct HomePod devices. These could range from a HomePod with a 7-inch display, serving as a smart home command center with FaceTime capabilities and presence sensors, to a new HomePod mini with audio enhancements. The launch of these HomePods is likely tied to the Siri 2.0 update, potentially announced alongside the iPhone 18 family in the fall of 2026.
Beyond the TV and HomePods, Apple may also enter the video doorbell and security camera market. Reports suggest development of a video doorbell utilizing Face ID for unlocking doors, and a security camera equipped with infrared sensors and facial recognition for home automation. These would represent a significant move for Apple, which currently relies on third-party manufacturers for HomeKit-compatible accessories.
