Apple has launched its newest MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops, integrating the advanced M5 and M5 Pro/Max chips. These processors are specifically engineered to boost performance for demanding AI tasks, with Apple stating that both new Air and Pro models can execute AI computations up to four times faster than their M4 counterparts.
The MacBook Air now offers an extended battery life of up to 18 hours and begins with 512 GB of storage. This refresh also includes a 12MP Center Stage camera and enhanced audio features supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Designed for intensive AI workloads, the MacBook Pro models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips show remarkable speed improvements. They are up to four times faster for Large Language Model prompt processing and eight times faster for AI image generation compared to previous generations.
These professional-grade laptops provide up to 24 hours of battery life and faster read/write performance. Storage starts at 1TB for M5 Pro models and 2TB for M5 Max configurations, with support for Thunderbolt 5.
