Summary
- New beta watchOS 27.3 adds Siri Recap and Live Rewind features.
- Features summarize conversations, convert audio snippets to text.
- Audio processing done on-device, no raw audio stored or shared.

The latest beta version of watchOS, version 27.3, now allows Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 users to test two advanced Audio Intelligence features. These include Siri Recap, which generates titles and key points for conversations, and Live Rewind, capable of transcribing the last 15 seconds of audio to text.
These features are designed to enhance user memory and understanding of spoken information. Live Rewind can be activated by double-pressing the Digital Crown, offering a quick way to review missed announcements or key discussion points. Both features leverage the on-device S11 chip for processing, with Apple stating that raw audio is never stored or accessed by apps, users, or the company itself.
Privacy is addressed through user control, with options to disable features and indicators like chimes and visual cues when Live Rewind is active. Siri Recap is designed to omit sensitive information like financial details. These capabilities require a compatible iPhone with Apple Intelligence enabled, such as an iPhone 16 or later (excluding iPhone 16e). Initially, these features will be available only in English and subject to daily usage limits, with no EU support at launch.
