Apple Wallet Splits Bills with AI Magic

Apple Wallet in iOS 27 now features an AI-powered bill-splitting tool, simplifying shared expenses from dining out. This new functionality allows users to scan a receipt, with Apple Intelligence identifying individual items. Users can then select what they owe and determine how to split the total cost, including tips, with contacts who use Apple Cash.

Beyond bill splitting, iOS 27 introduces further enhancements to Apple Wallet. Users can now create custom digital passes by scanning physical cards like transit or ID cards, or by manually entering details. This feature helps declutter physical wallets and has been praised for its ease of use, even digitizing membership cards effectively. Newer Apple Watch models will also support pinning these custom passes via the Smart Stack.

Additional Wallet updates in iOS 27 include the ability for developers to create posters for events using multiple tickets and to integrate order tracking for retail apps using Apple Intelligence. Users with an Apple Card can also view their recurring payments directly within the Wallet app. These features are rolling out as part of the iOS 27 update.
