Apple TV's tvOS 27.2: Screensavers Get Smarter!

Apple TV's latest update, tvOS 27.2, brings a host of welcome enhancements. The system's acclaimed screensavers now feature a new "Shuffle" option, cycling through diverse categories such as Aerials, Memories, and Portraits for a more dynamic visual experience. Users can also select specific photos for their screensavers from their iPhone without sharing their entire photo library, a boon for shared households.

FaceTime communication on Apple TV has been improved with the introduction of FaceTime links for easier call joining, utilizing the iPhone's Continuity Camera. Accessibility is further boosted with the addition of third-party sign language interpreters and live captioning services, features also extended to iPhone, iPad, and Mac updates. Additionally, the Apple TV app now supports ASL and BSL for select movies and shows.

The new Apple TV 4K includes an updated Siri Remote with enhanced Find My capabilities, featuring a built-in speaker for easier location. Even older Apple TV models benefit as the remote now appears in the Find My app. Profile support has also arrived in the TV app, syncing across devices for personalized experiences, alongside a new black-and-white Apple Music icon.

This free tvOS 27.2 update is available for the second-generation Apple TV 4K (2021) and later models. Some advanced features, like surround sound setup with specific HomePod models, are exclusive to the newest Apple TV 4K with the A19 chip.
