Apple is set to unveil its inaugural foldable smartphone, with reports suggesting it will be named the "iPhone Duo." This device is expected to launch today during Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event.
The "iPhone Duo" is rumored to incorporate an A20 Pro chip and offer simultaneous app usage on its main screen. It will also feature dual 48 MP rear cameras and a 12 MP front-facing camera, alongside Apple Pencil support.
Addressing concerns about visible creases on foldable devices, Apple's offering is reportedly designed with minimal to no creasing on the main display. The base model is anticipated to come with 256GB of storage and a price tag of $2,000.
Higher storage variants could reach up to $3,000, positioning it competitively against Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Google's Pixel 11 Fold Pro, both launched last month starting at $1,899. The iPhone Duo is expected to be available in white and dark blue, with sales commencing as early as October.
Alongside the "iPhone Duo," the launch event is also expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12, and the Watch Ultra 4. There are also predictions of a $100 price increase for the iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.
