Apple is reportedly gearing up to release a new iteration of its iMac desktop computer later this year, according to a recent report. This upcoming model is expected to introduce a "refreshed color palette," a significant departure from the current lineup.
The current M4 iMac, launched in 2024, comes in seven distinct colors: Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Blue, and Silver. Historically, the iMac was known for its signature aquamarine blue, and the report suggests a return to more distinctive color options, possibly mirroring shades seen in the new MacBook Neo line.
Beyond aesthetics, the next iMac is widely expected to be powered by Apple's forthcoming M5 chipset. The desktop skipped the M2 generation and received its last core update with the M3 in 2024. Pricing will be a critical factor, with the current base model retailing at $1,299. This comes after Apple recently increased prices for its M5 MacBook Pro models.
